Rainbow Station CEO to study early childhood education in China

November 14, 2007 // Franchising.com // Richmond, VA- Gail Johnson, CEO of Rainbow Station, will participate in an international delegation of childhood professionals to China under the auspices of the People to People Citizen Ambassador Programs. Johnson was nominated to be a delegate by the National Association of Early Childhood Educators. She also serves as Chair of the Virginia Child Daycare Council at the pleasure of the Governor.

During the 11-day trip, which begins on November 30, the 28 delegates will learn about the status and of early childhood education in China through personal exchanges and individual, firsthand experiences of other cultures

The delegation's areas of study include:
* Program philosophy
* Development of the creative process in early childhood classrooms
* Age-appropriate activities
* Teacher-child interaction
* Continuing professional development for staff
* Characteristics of program leadership
* Parental involvement
* Importance of family-child-community relationships

The delegates will also tour several cities and historical sites, including ancient Buddhist temples, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall.

Rainbow Station, winner of the 2006 Better Business Bureau's Torch Award for Business Integrity, is headquartered in Richmond, VA. There are six corporate Rainbow Station schools in Richmond, and franchise schools in Virginia, North Carolina and Texas. All schools are accredited, or seeking accreditation, by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the National After School Association and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
