Firehouse Subs Fanning Rapid Growth in the Pacific Northwest

Firehouse Subs Fanning Rapid Growth in the Pacific Northwest

Firehouse Subs is a red-hot product in the fast-casual sandwich space.

The proven and established brand is growing by leaps and bounds as it continues opening stores across North America. The Jacksonville, Florida-based brand was launched in 2005 and now has more than 1,160 restaurants operating in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada. Along the way, the sandwich brand has gained a reputation for premium meats and cheeses steamed and piled high on toasted sub rolls and served with the freshest produce and condiments. But the brand is also known for its support of first responders and public safety organizations across the country.

Now the brand has its expansion sights set on the Pacific Northwest. That’s where area developer Maryellen Mech has overseen the opening of 19 Firehouse Subs locations so far in cities throughout her territory of Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Northern Idaho. She’s also busy working on 7 additional stores that are in the pipeline and scheduled to open soon.

Mech, who has previous franchising experience with a pizza brand, says she simply “fell in love with Firehouse Subs, its food, and their incredible commitment to local first responders.” She says the brand’s steadfast commitment to the highest-quality ingredients and its unwavering pledge to support first responders in the communities in which it operates through its Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation are what really sold her on the brand. To date, more than $42 million has been donated to public safety organizations via Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

This unique mix of dedication to quality and support for the community have helped create a deeply passionate culture among Firehouse Subs operators that you just don’t find in other brands. As Mech further explains, “While we have an incredible product, best-in-class support, and an amazing philanthropic mission – we will always be in the people business first.”

Customers across the Pacific Northwest have shown their support for the brand’s great food and community-focused first-responder mission by making Mech’s stores consistently one of the top region’s for sales volume across the entire Firehouse Subs system.

The Firehouse Subs brand knows it’s important to stand behind its existing franchisees as well as offer the kind of support new franchisees will need to be successful. That’s why it offers best-in-class training and support, the latest technology tools, loyalty programs, and more. As a Firehouse Subs area developer, Mech has helped the brand sign and support franchisees throughout the Pacific Northwest. With a history of innovative products, a focus on exceptional customer service, and a one-of-a-kind brand identity, she says, Firehouse Subs will always be committed to building profit for franchisees.

The Firehouse Subs brand is now looking to add 30 more restaurants across the Pacific Northwest. The brand is looking for franchisees who are a cultural fit, exceptional small business operators, and who will add value and be an integral part of the communities where they operate.

“This expansion would create approximately 15 to 20 full-time management and support staff employment opportunities at each location,” says Mech. “We’re ready to go and continue to search for the right franchise partners to facilitate our growth.”
