Xpresso Delight's Single-Touch Coffee System Follows New CDC Guidelines for Workplaces

There are a lot of unknowns for the majority of franchises right now. Social distancing, face masks, and gloves have become commonplace in American culture, but is it temporary or are these long term changes that businesses will need to adapt to? Restaurants are already being forced to reconfigure and limit capacities in order to comply with social distancing requirements. Of all the uncertainty, there is one thing that seems to be a necessity going forward. Franchises need to have plans in place for limiting their customers’ exposure to germs and viruses by stepping up their sanitation efforts.

Widely covered by the media, including the NY Times, the CDC recently issued guidelines for returning to the workplace, including suggestions for communal areas like the office kitchen: “Replace high-touch communal items, such as coffee pots, water coolers, and bulk snacks, with alternatives such as prepackaged, single-serving items.”

Xpresso Delight Coffee, the world’s largest and fastest growing office coffee franchise, has already been preparing for this. “We’ve believed, and continue to believe, that offices across America will resume in one way or another, with leadership taking active measures to mitigate risk for their team members. Now that the CDC has issued these guidelines, we’re even more convinced that we have the perfect solution for office coffee programs,” said Xpresso Delight Coffee CEO, Nigell Lee.

Over the last 30 days, Xpresso Delight Coffee developed sanitation standards to effectively convert its Single-Touch coffee system into a zero touch system if the disposable finger cots provided by Xpresso Delight Coffee are used. Historically, Xpresso Delight Coffee’s automatic espresso machines have been able to make a single-serve coffee, latte, or cappuccino with just one press of a button, but they’ve taken it a step further by eliminating any need to physically touch the machine.

Additionally, Xpresso Delight is expecting to benefit from what they've been preaching to offices for some time now, which is that their automated espresso machine keeps employees in the office, and not leaving for local coffee shops. In a post-Covid low touch economy, this value may become more significant, as employees will look to reduce risk by limiting the exposure in elevators, building lobbies, and beyond. To add to this, their automated espresso machines seem to be a lower touch option than competitors in the space.

“Many coffee machines require multiple touches from an individual to make a cup of coffee, particularly pod coffee machines. Our coffee system only requires one touch of a button so it was already the most hygienic option for offices, but we’ve gone a few steps further now,” said Nigell.

Xpresso Delight Coffee is rolling out its supplemental sanitation package alongside its coffee system immediately. It includes a cleaning log that shows users the last time the machine was fully sanitized, disinfectant wipes to be used after each use, disposable finger cots (a glove for the tip of your finger) for each use, and disposable gloves for daily cleaning. All clients will receive the supplemental supplies at no additional cost.

“We recognize the importance of limiting the amount of touchpoints on coffee machine use and our program is about as good as it gets without placing a huge burden on our clients. And because our service includes all of the cafe favorites like lattes and cappuccinos, employees won’t need to go into other crowded areas like elevators, lobbies, and coffee shops to get their caffeine fix,” Nigell explained. “Xpresso Delight Coffee has always been known for our quality, service, and eco-friendliness. Now we want to be known as the safest option for your office as well.”

Nobody knows when offices will resume normal or even modified activity in cities across America, but when they do, Xpresso Delight Coffee franchisees are ready, willing, and able to help companies achieve their goals of risk mitigation.

Xpresso Delight Coffee is accepting applications in the top 50 most densely populated cities across the country and is awarding exclusive territories to qualified candidates.
