Use of BPA is controversial because it is an estrogen-mimicking chemical that when ingested is linked to a host of physical ailments. BRING Recycling conducted an exhaustive environmental assessment of Café Yumm!'s business practices and awarded it the RE:think Recognition Award for its efforts to reduce its environmental impact. Café Yumm! is the third business to receive the Award.

The Award is an acknowledgment of Café Yumm!'s efforts to further sustainability concepts from waste prevention to energy conservation. Café Yumm! Expands Its Warehouse May 14, 2009 // Franchising.com // Café Yumm! has entered into an exclusive agreement with Whole Foods Markets to supply Yumm! Sauce™ to all five (5) Whole Foods Markets in the State of Washington. This is the first time that Yumm! Sauce has become available in retail stores in Washington. Those locations are in Bellevue, Seattle (2 locations), Redmond, and Vancouver.

February 19, 2009 // Franchising.com // Café Yumm! opened its doors Monday, February 16 at RiverBend Medical Center, welcoming patients, visitors, and staff to enjoy beautiful, healthy, delicious food. Café Yumm!, Lane County's own fast-casual and uniquely Northwest eatery, was selected last fall by PeaceHealth to operate the only restaurant within the Medical Center.

Café Yumm! at RiverBend is a franchise, with owner Zack Hegge leading operations. This is the Hegge Family's second Café Yumm! – they also own the Café Yumm! at The Crossroads on Gateway in Springfield.

March 13, 2008 // Franchising.com // Café Yumm! is supporting UNICEF's Tap Project, a campaign that celebrates clean and accessible tap water available as an every day privilege to millions. Beginning Sunday, March 16 participating Café Yumm! restaurants will invite customers to donate a minimum of $1 for the tap water they would normally get for free. According to UNICEF, for every dollar raised, a child will have clean drinking water for 40 days. UNICEF provides access to safe water and sanitation facilities while promoting safe hygiene practices in more than 90 countries.
