January 30, 2008 // Franchising.com // Carrollton-based EYESthere, a digital-video security maker, has launched its first franchise location in Grand Prairie, and the company expects more than 200 to follow in the next two years.
A 47-year-old, former Green Beret opened the location after a career living and working overseas, according to a company statement.
"I loved the work I was doing overseas in the security business and I wanted to continue it by working for myself instead of for someone else," said franchise owner Mike Plante, a graduate of the University of North Texas. "Since this was my first entrepreneurial venture, I decided finding a franchise that utilized my skill set would be the best of both worlds...

Digital Security Company Explodes Nationwide in 2007, Sets Sights on 2008
January 29, 2008 // Franchising.com // (Dallas, TX)---According to the U.S. Small Business Association, roughly 50 percent of all small businesses fail within their first year. Thankfully, the folks at EYESthere didn't get that memo.
Founded in 2006, EYESthere purchased the assets of a Portland, OR-based Logan Digital Securities, dramatically expanded its operations and quickly became the dominant local provider of surveillance camera solutions. In 2007, EYESthere opened a second location in Dallas, Texas before launching its franchising program in April of 2007. This was a crucial decision, as it could have propelled the company either toward a bright nationwide future or into the failed business statistics books, but EYESthere director and CEO Rick Rene was confident the result would prove the former outcome, not the latter...

Digital Surveillance Company Donates System to Local Charity
December 20, 2007 // Franchising.com // (Tampa, FL)---For many non-profit organizations, the focus is on helping others rather than helping themselves. Thankfully, one company is keeping a watchful eye over a local organization that needs it the most.
On November 7th, Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County received an upgraded surveillance system to its Habitat ReStore donation center from Doug and Vicki Dunbar, owners of the local EYESthere digital surveillance company. The approximately 10,000-square-foot location, which accepts household merchandise for public resale to generate funds for their operations, was outfitted with a four-camera digital system to survey its two buildings as well as inner and outer yards...

(Carrollton, TX)---They have yet to reach the point where they are finishing each other's sentences, but it is clearly evident the business partnership between Rick Rene and Randy Andrews is clicking on all cylinders.
Rene is the 43-year-old CEO of EYESthere, a franchised, high-quality provider of turnkey, customized digital video and software security solutions to businesses and residential customers. A former key executive with both Accenture and Excel Communications during successful IPOs, Rene founded EYESthere and in July 2006 purchased the assets of Logan Digital Security, a digital video security company founded in 2002 by the 40-year-old Andrews, who Rene calls one of the industry's "top talents in the world."
The two were seemingly brought together by fate...
