1-800-PACK-RAT Portable Storage is the simplest way to store or move your stuff. Pack Rat provides portable storage, on-site storage, warehouse self-storage and moving services.
1-800-PACK-RAT started with the idea of making self-storage and self-moving easier and simpler. It ended with a concept that is revolutionizing both of those industries.
Tim Lockamy, owner of a traditional self-storage business in North Carolina, was always looking for ways to improve his service and attract more customers. What he found was that besides clean and safe, people mostly wanted something close and convenient.
Tim quickly realized that he couldn't get a storage unit any closer to customers' homes than placing it smack dab in front of their house! As he looked for ways to do this, he discovered that delivering a full-size storage container to a customer's house – without tilting or rolling it off or otherwise knocking everything around inside – was no easy task!
He sketched out a portable storage design that he jokingly referred to as a Pack Rat because of its ability to store everything. He then sought out one of the most experienced heavy-equipment manufacturers in the country. Together they built a system that can lift a fully-loaded PACK-RAT storage container without swaying or shifting and gently place it anywhere he could drive the truck. And there you have it: 1-800-PACK-RAT storage units - The simplest way to store or move your stuff.
