Bear Stearns Makes Two Key Appointments in Structured Equity Products
October 08, 2007 // Franchising.com // London — Bear, Stearns International Limited today announced that it has made two senior additions to its London-based European structured equity products team. Shilpa Amin and Olivier Mathys have been appointed as managing directors in structured equity products, Europe.

Ms. Amin will be responsible for setting up and maintaining a UCITS III Funds platform. UCITS III Funds, or Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities, allow collective funds and other eligible assets to be marketed freely throughout the EU with the authorisation of only one member state. The UCITS III Funds platform will allow Bear Stearns to deliver its extensive range of structured products to investors across Europe. Ms. Amin joins from Nomura International where she was an equity derivatives product structurer, responsible for product structuring and issuance. Prior to that, she was senior counsel for equity derivatives and equity capital markets at Merrill Lynch.
Mr. Mathys will be responsible for certificate sales in Switzerland as part of Bear Stearns' Best Markets certificates platform. This platform offers an assortment of products ranging from leveraged and capital-protected products, to yield improvement certificates including Tracker, Discount and Mini Future certificates. Mr. Mathys has four years experience in structured product sales having worked at J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and Credit Suisse Private Banking, Zurich. Before that, he was an FX and Interest Rate options trader for eight years.
Bear Stearns' structured equity products include: 'PACER', a Portfolio Allocation between Commodities and Equities designed to provide positive Returns through bull and bear market cycles; Bear Stearns' structured product 'ISIS' which is designed to outperform the Euro Zone equity markets; and the European 'Adagio' Strategy Hybrid, which invests in European equity, bond and real estate assets.
