Golf Shop Uses Latest Technology to Ensure Golfers Get Clubs that Fit

In early December, the professionals at Golf Etc. will begin using TrackMan to measure various aspects of each player's swing and ensure the best possible club fitting. Golf Etc., located in the Northlake Mall area, offers fittings, equipment and lessons for golfers of all experience levels.
TrackMan uses Doppler radar technology to provide precise data on the angle, path and speed of a player's swing. The results are displayed in a three-dimensional computer simulation that can be viewed from multiple angles. PGA players and golf club manufacturers use the tool to improve everything from technique to club design.
Golf Etc. has invited media representatives to a Dec. 6 preview of TrackMan, and they will begin using it for customer fittings the following day.
"We are the only retail store in the Charlotte area with TrackMan," said store owner Mike Brown. "We focus on each individual's unique swing. TrackMan allows us to maximize player performance."
The new technology takes the guesswork out of fittings, he said. "We want to make sure we fit players for the right club, not just make a sale."
The device even features game-improvement capabilities that will help golfers hone their skills. "TrackMan takes golf to a whole new level," said Brown.
Golf Etc. also offers revolutionary drivers from Nakashima Golf. Unlike equipment from other major manufacturers, Nakashima drivers are not mass- produced and each one is individually inspected. The drivers offered at Golf Etc. are the same quality as those used by PGA Tour players, and feature an interchangeable shaft.
