The Growth Coach in La Crosse is Educating School Administrators via The Strategic Educational Leader Program
Former school superintendent and owner of The Growth Coach in La Crosse Fred Kusch developed a program to balance lives and better children's learning environments
November 19, 2008 // Franchising.com // LA CROSSE – The Growth Coach in La Crosse owner Fred Kusch recently launched his specialized program – The Strategic Educational Leader – which is aimed at superintendents, principals, school administrators and other education leaders. The mission of this unique program is to provide business knowledge and mindsets to non-business professionals, such as those in the education system. This program will give local education leaders the opportunity to improve the inner workings of their schools while improving their strategic mindsets.
Coach Fred, as he is better known, opened his The Growth Coach location in La Crosse in 2005. The Growth Coach's signature group coaching process, unique Strategic Mindset® system, one-on-one coaching and other related services help clients examine the current status of both their businesses and personal lives and develop a road map to help them achieve their goals.
"Through my time as a school teacher, secondary school principal, superintendent, university lecturer and school board member, I realized that the same stresses which occur for business owners also occur for school administrators," said Kusch. "I created The Strategic Educational Leader program to help relieve some of these stresses and in turn better our children's learning experience."
The Strategic Educational Leader program began with a pilot session containing local school administrators who sat through two years of The Growth Coach's business-focused coaching sessions. Participants included a high school principal, master elementary teacher, internationally-known middle school principal and a superintendent. Upon completion of the program, the educational leaders and Coach Fred agreed that the business practices taught to local business owners would prove beneficial in the education world as well.
"The business of a school is to do what's in the best interest of the students," added Kusch. "Taking care of yourself first so that you can take care of the business of the school is imperative. If your life isn't balanced, it will have a direct effect on the students and teachers around you."
In the world of education, most states require school administrators to complete continuing education, growth and development courses and receive graduate credits to maintain their education license. The Strategic Educational Leader program has qualified for continuing education credits and provides a meaningful option that has the rigor of a strong graduate study course.
Graduate credits are available through Viterbo University in La Crosse. Any educational leaders throughout the United States can apply for this program and receive up to six graduate credits upon completion.
