Jackson Hewitt Tax Service(R) Launches Partnership With Dress for Success to Support Financial Literacy Initiative
Tax Education Series to Kick Off in New York City
PARSIPPANY, N.J., Jan. 26 // PRNewswire-FirstCall // -- Jackson Hewitt Tax Service(R) announced a partnership with Dress for Success (DFS), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the economic independence of disadvantaged women, to support Dress for Success' financial literacy initiative through a series of comprehensive tax information seminars to be held at DFS locations in several cities nationwide.
Jackson Hewitt(R) and DFS' New York City affiliate will host the first event in a series of comprehensive tax information seminars aimed at educating women about tax preparation and budget planning. This free seminar will provide participating DFS Professional Women's Group members with tips and information about filing a tax return as well as basic money management skills. The Professional Women's Group is a networking association for DFS clients who have recently entered the workforce, some for the first time. The Professional Women's Groups offer classes and networking opportunities.

Seminar attendees will learn about key tax and budgeting essentials including:
- Organizing tax-related paperwork
- Selecting the most appropriate filing status
- When and how to file a tax return
- Tax tips such as commonly overlooked credits and deductions
- How to find a tax preparer
- Tax planning throughout the year
- Financial basics such as budgeting and planning for a potential refund.
