Annex Brands Boosts The Ranks of Certified Franchise Professionals
February 24, 2009 // Franchising.com // San Diego - Patrick Edd, president and CFO of Annex Brands, Inc. and Steve Goble, Vice President of Marketing Communications, were awarded the industry designation of Certified Franchise Executive™ by the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives.
Presented earlier this month in San Diego at the International Franchise Association's (IFA) 49th annual convention, the designation demonstrates achievement in franchising experience as well as completing a comprehensive course of study in franchise management offered by the institute, the academic branch of the IFA's Educational Foundation.
Annex Brands, Inc. is the San Diego-based franchisor of PostalAnnex+ business service centers, Handle With Care Packaging Store freight shipping locations, and Sunshine Pack & Ship stores. The company has over 350 franchises in 36 states.
Edd has been president and CFO of the company since 2004, starting in 1991 as the Director of Finance and Administration. Previously he spent four years with accounting firm Touche Ross, and three years as CFO of a San Diego hotel group. He holds a bachelor's degree from San Diego State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Goble has been Vice President of Marketing Communications for Annex Brands, Inc. since 2006, having previously been a PostalAnnex+ franchise owner for over seven years. Prior to that, he spent over nine years in various positions with Jack In The Box, Inc. in marketing and financial analysis. Goble holds bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from San Diego State University.
More than 1,100 candidates are currently enrolled or have received certification. Candidates must complete a rigorous course of study to earn the CFE designation, which includes attending institute-sponsored educational seminars and workshops. The program is designed to enhance franchising professionals' understanding of both the industry's fundamental and complex aspects.
