Labor Finders International Wins the Prestigious ASA Care Award: Labor Finders Served Hope to the Homeless

October 27, 2009 // Franchising.com // PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL -- Labor Finders International won the 2009 American Staffing Association's prestigious Care Award, which recognizes outstanding corporate social responsibility initiatives among ASA member companies and affiliated chapters. A panel of independent Corporate Social Responsibility specialists was on the selection committee. Labor Finders competed with other staffing firms with more than $100 million in annual sales. Jeffrey Burnett, President and CEO of Labor Finders International; Dan Shube, Director of Marketing and Celina Klee, Public Relations Manager were presented with the ASA Care Award on Oct. 23 at the ASA Staffing World 2009 convention, which was held in Orlando, Florida.
"The ASA Care Awards demonstrated the breadth of the staffing industry's impact on the lives of others and the communities we live in," says award judge Serenity Edwards, CIPP, of the Direct Marketing Association. "That impact has the potential to grow as more staffing companies continue to develop socially responsible programs and promote the good work they are doing across the nation."
This prestigious award is in recognition for the hard work of the Labor Finders Team Members concerning the plight of the hundreds of men, women and children, who have lost not only their jobs but also their homes due to the economic down-term (the new American homeless,) living in tents on the American River in Sacramento, California. "We needed to do something, anything to help these people get back on their feet again," said Dan Shube.
"So after a brain-storming session it was agreed that we had to do more than just give a hot meal to these people…we would try to get them back on their feet by offering job and career guidance. What we had hoped for at that event, was to draw the attention of employers from around the state of California or nationally which might lead to getting these people jobs during these trying times," said Shube.
