Volvo Rents Franchise Owner Pete Post Named President of Texas Rental Association
August 09, 2010 // Franchising.com // Houston, TX – Pete Post, owner of two Volvo Rents franchise locations in Houston and Seabrook, TX, was recently named President of the Texas Rental Association.
Originally established in 1958, the Texas Rental Association (TRA) is an association of rental stores and suppliers that includes more than 400 companies across Texas. The purpose of TRA, which is affiliated with the American Rental Association, is to provide support, services, education and legislative representation to the rental industry, including both party and equipment rental stores.
"To be named President of the Texas Rental Association is a great honor for which I am very proud," said Post, who has previously served as Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President of the TRA. "I have been involved in the Texas rental industry for more than 30 years and feel fortunate to have the opportunity to represent so many great people and companies and help move our industry forward."
A veteran of the rental industry with more than 30 years of experience, Post began his career as a store manager with a rental company that eventually became Prime Equipment. Working with Prime Equipment for more than 20 years, and being named President and COO along the way, Post helped grow the company from six stores to nearly 300 during his tenure. In 2004, Post saw an opportunity to own a Volvo Rents center in the Houston area and immediately jumped at the opportunity. He opened a second Volvo Rents franchise in Seabrook, Texas in 2009.
Volvo Rents stores rent an expanding line of Volvo compact equipment such as backhoe and skid steer loaders, compact wheel loaders and compact excavators, as well as a full line of construction equipment and aerial equipment from more than 150 Alliance Vendors. Volvo Rents stores also carry an extensive inventory of tools including light towers, generators, pumps, saws, lifts and other equipment. The focus is on daily, weekly and monthly rentals to construction, industrial, commercial and homeowner customers.
Today, Volvo Rents operates 71 locations in North America, tallying more than 215,000+ end-use customers, and operates 89 locations in Europe, India, Thailand, Philippines and Mexico.
