The Forzani Group Ltd.: Expansion of the Power of Sport for Kids Program Helps Even More Kids Play
CALGARY, ALBERTA - (Marketwire) - The Forzani Group Ltd. (TSX:FGL) is proud to announce the expansion of The Power of Sport for Kids community giving program to more of its corporate banners.
Previously exclusive to Sport Chek, customers and associates at Athletes World, Hockey Experts and Sport Mart stores can now contribute to this incredible cause as well, helping even more Canadian kids participate in sport and activity.
A national fundraising campaign kicks off this month to celebrate the expansion of the program. From August 12 – 15, customers who visit Athletes World, Hockey Experts, Sport Chek and Sport Mart stores and donate $2 to the Power of Sport for Kids program will receive $5 off their next purchase.
The Power of Sport for Kids is a nationwide program created to support disadvantaged children who would benefit from the infusion of sports and activity in their young lives. In-store fundraising initiatives provide the funds for sports equipment and accessories that will give these kids the chance to play.
"We believe that together we can make a significant impact on the health of Canadians as a whole by enabling more children to participate in the sports, activity and play that they otherwise may not have access to," said Matthew Hanford, SVP Human Resources and Power of Sport for Kids Steering Committee Chairman.
Over $1 million has been raised over the past two years through Sport Chek stores across the country. Thanks to the support of employees, customers and vendors, the Power of Sport for Kids has contributed thousands of units of sports equipment to recipient organizations since its inception in 2005.
