Home Care Services Growing Amidst Slow Economy

Home care services are being consumed at a steady rate, largely due to the baby boomers and their parents. The Homewatch CareGivers franchise network is helping people meet this market demand.

PRLog (Press Release) – Dec 21, 2010 – Greenwood Village, CO - If you thought every industry was down due to a sluggish economy, think again. At least one company in the home care segment based in Denver, Colorado is on the rise.

Home care services are being consumed at a steady rate, largely due to the baby boomers and their parents. The term baby boomer came from the seventy-six million American children who were born between 1945 and 1964, born during the post World War II baby boom. And combined with their parents, these segments of the population, over 100 million in strength is a driving force of the United States economy, who are actively looking for solutions to live their best life.

"It is the baby boomers and their parents that are largely requesting home care assistance and related services as they strive to enter their older years gracefully and enjoy some assistance with daily activities," says Leann Reynolds, President of Homewatch CareGivers (http://www.homewatchcaregivers.com), who took over the daily operations from her father Paul Sauer, founder of the company in 1980.

With over 6,100 caregivers on staff, the Homewatch CareGivers network of Franchise Partners provided a whopping 3.3 million hours of service in 2009 and will provide 3.8 million hours in 2010. An increase of 15 percent, year over year. And the company is showing no signs of slowing.

The home care industry is made up of several types of services to aid the marketplace. Services range from basic non-medical related tasks such as transportation, in-home care to enhance one's safety and security, homemaking and companionship to meal preparation and daily assistance. While Homewatch CareGivers provides the majority of their services to the senior care industry, the other services are comprised of helping people of all ages and backgrounds including emergency child care, companion care, and handicap assistance. Homewatch CareGivers also provide medical related services to their clients, offering services such as Parkinson's and Multiple Sclerosis care, memory care, senior exercise, medication assistance and medical discharge. "It is this combination of medical and non-medical services which provide many valuable services to the community whom our franchise partners serve," says Reynolds.

The home care services industry is growing at such a steady rate that the United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor and Statistics report that the employment of personal and home care aides is expected to grow by 46 percent from 2008 to 2018, which is much faster than the average for all occupations, their fastest category for positive change. Homewatch CareGivers is an International franchise network with over 183 franchise locations providing home care services to thousands of clients in 34 U.S. states and five countries. "Not only is realizing a system growth of 15% over last year encouraging, but making life a little easier for people and their families is what this business is all about," Reynolds said.
