Milwaukie's Honest-1 Auto Care(R) Opens for Business

Local Resident and Entrepreneur Opens Second PDX Location

January 26, 2011 // Franchising.com // Milwaukie, Oregon â€“ Honest-1 Auto Care, the only national full-service auto repair and maintenance franchise that is 100 percent ESA Certified Eco-Friendly, today announced the opening of its newest location at 13840 SE McLoughlin Boulevard in Milwaukie, Oregon, located across the street from the Bomber Restaurant next to Carquest Auto PartsÂ®.

Formerly MidasÂ® of Milwaukie, the shop has been totally remodeled and expanded to accommodate nearly 50 percent more servicing capacity. The auto repair and maintenance facility now features ten full-service bays including two truck and RV lifts and a Quick-Lube bay for oil changes. They have also doubled the size of the customer lounge and added a children's play area, internet cafÃ©, free Wiâ€“Fi, comfortable leather chairs, a 42" flat screen TV and complementary beverages for their customers.

As an opening special, the new Honest-1 Auto Care is offering a free standard oil-change credit with any service through the end of the year and has made additional discounts available through coupons in local publications and online at www.honest1milwaukie.com. Shop hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The new Milwaukie shop is the second Honest-1 store that Cha owns. His other store is located at 6332 SE 82nd Avenue, between Foster and Johnson Creek Road, in Portland. Cha is a graduate of Wilson High School in Portland and has a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Florida and an MBA from Duke University. Cha started in the automotive industry in Detroit as a systems engineer and also worked for several consulting companies focusing on supply-chain and working capital management.

In an effort to give back to the community and the environment, Cha said that Honest-1 is funding the planting of 100,000 new trees through a partnership formed with American Forests. Locally, American Forests has planted thousands of new trees in the Deschutes River Basin project to protect the native fish stocks and water quality of the basin.

Honest-1 is also repairing the often negative perception the public has of auto maintenance shops. With the brand's new color scheme, attractive in-store design, shop cleanliness and enhanced product lines, Honest-1 Auto Care has become a favorite car repair destination for the areas it serves.
