Planet Beach Automated Day Spa Gains Market Share

Contempo Spa Gives Customer Less Expensive Option Than Traditional Day Spas

NEW ORLEANS, LA--(Marketwire - Aug 23, 2011) - Planet Beach Contempo Spa may not look like a traditional day spa with its high-tech automated day spa services and unique environment, but it is growing in popularity and grabbing market share from traditional day spas.

Unlike a traditional day spa, high-tech automatic equipment in private rooms perform the services. The automated approach gives customers privacy and appeals to those who prefer hands-off spa services and lower costs. Customers purchase monthly memberships like a health club, which allows them to have more frequent massages, spray tans, facials and other services than they normally would.

The franchise world is paying attention.

Entrepreneur Magazine listed franchised day spas as a hot trend for 2011 and listed the Planet Beach Contempo Spa as one of its best bets. INC Magazine listed Planet Beach as one of its top 10 franchises. SpaFinder's 2011 Spa Trend Report mentioned Planet Beach and said this year will be "a breakthrough year" for global spa franchise expansion and new spa brand models.

"This is an exciting time to be in the health and wellness sector," said Troy Wise, Franchise Marketing Director for Planet Beach Contempo Spas. "More than ever, people want to take steps to reduce stress and lead healthier, more balanced lives. Our franchise owners also like that they are helping so many people achieve these goals."

With a membership business model, Contempo Spa franchise owners get recurring revenue and special events such as spa parties which can boost the bottom line, Wise said.

"At a time of high stress levels and tight budgets, Planet Beach's low-priced memberships give more people access to popular spa services such as massages, facials, spray tans and saunas," Wise said. "If you wanted a single facial or massage at most traditional day spas, you'd spend about $200 or more. At Planet Beach, less than $100 pays for a full month of membership, and our members can get a massage and facial as often as they want to."
