Major Development for Freddy's in First Quarter 2012

April 20, 2012 // Franchising.com // Wichita, KS—The opening months of the new year produced exciting developments for Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers. New and expansive franchise territory agreements were signed for California, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Wyoming.“The exponential growth of Freddy’s is really impressive and we have some very experienced restaurant operators coming on board. It is also extremely positive to see existing franchise groups searching for and signing new territories—they are pleased with the concept and the company,” commented Freddy’s VP of Franchise Development Mark Scholler. Development agreements for a total of 316 new locations are secured; the new sites will span several existing and nine previously uncharted states.

With 61 stores operating today and 27 more scheduled to launch this year, new construction for Freddy’s in 2012 will be at the fastest rate in the chain’s history. “We understand the immense importance of timing and strategic growth,” commented COO Scott Redler. “We’re absolutely committed to expanding our support team and the corresponding infrastructure needed to facilitate this growth at the right time and with the right people.”

Freddy’s founders operate six locations in the Wichita Metro area, two in the Kansas City market, and one in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Fifty-two franchise units serve other areas of Kansas and Oklahoma as well as Arizona, California, Colorado, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska and Texas.

Freddy’s was listed as the Fifth Fastest Growing Chain Restaurant in the United States and Canada in 2010 by Chain Store Guide, a sister publication to Nation’s Restaurant News. More recently, Freddy’s was recognized by Technomics as the 5th fastest growing burger concept in the country. In the local community of the company’s founding, Freddy’s is a recipient of the 2011 Best in Business Award from the Wichita Business Journal.
