TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® Posts Record Franchise Development Activity; Adds 34th State to its Footprint

13 New Franchise Agreements Inked Thus Far in 2012

May 21, 2012 // Franchising.com // LANSING, Mich. - Leading moving company TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® has enjoyed a busy start to 2012 for its U.S.-based operations that includes a new location in Idaho - its first for the state – as well as the signing of three new franchise agreements, the opening of four additional satellite offices, and the transfer of five stores to new ownership. The increased franchise development activity is a result of growing demand for the Company’s local-and-long distance moving services. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® (www.twomenandatruck.com) currently operates 224 locations in 34 states and has grown 33% during the past two years. The company is averaging 19% growth year-to-date in 2012.

New franchise locations include: Jefferson Parish, La., operated by Billy and Janie Rippner; Denton County, Texas, operated by longtime franchisee Kyle Norcutt; and Boise, Idaho, operated by Terry Bruns. The new Texas location marks the 13th store for Norcutt.

The Company has also added four new satellite offices, including Austin, Texas; Dayton, Ohio; Panama City, Fla., and Westchester, N.Y.

Additionally, five existing locations have been awarded to current or new franchisees since the beginning of the year, including a store in Winston-Salem, N.C., awarded to Joe and Kate Windemuller; the Treasure Coast, Fla. location signed to the ownership team of Joel and Janelle Dowley and Jim and Shauna Bledsoe; the Tallahassee, Fla. location assigned to Nathan Bocock and Bryan Feldman; a Lexington, Ky., location awarded to longtime franchisee, Mike Lally; and the Memphis, Tenn., location that has been transferred to new franchisee, Ben Darnell.

“Three-quarters of our existing franchisees have experienced double-digit growth in the past year,” said TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® President/CEO Brig Sorber. “It’s obviously not a real estate boom that’s driving our growth today. Instead, our growth is a testament to the dedication of our franchisees and their ability to provide a better moving experience to the communities they serve. We plan to add 40 new franchisees during the next 18 months just to keep up with the demand for our services.”
