Just in Time for Summer Häagen-Dazs Shops Highlights Strawberry and Introduces the New Sweet Balsamic Strawberry Sundae

June 22, 2012 // Franchising.com // MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – This summer Häagen-Dazs® Shops is highlighting its exceptional strawberry ice cream. To kick-off the summer strawberry promotion, Häagen-Dazs Shops has launched the new Sweet Balsamic Strawberry Sundae.

Häagen-Dazs® founder Reuben Mattus searched six years to find strawberries that met the brand’s high standards; standards still adhered to today in all Häagen-Dazs products.

“Our strawberry ice cream has always been a favorite among our consumers, and we are thrilled to highlight the flavor for summer,” said Dawn Uremovich, president of The Häagen-Dazs Shoppe Company, Inc.. “We continue to use the same types of strawberries Reuben Mattus handpicked for his original strawberry ice cream, and we are excited to provide consumers with the distinct, first-rate flavor he envisioned years ago.”

Häagen-Dazs strawberry ice cream is made with only the finest strawberries, as the company uses only two varieties, Hood and Totem. Hood and Totem strawberries are deep red and ripe to the core with a soft, ripe texture and flavor that makes them delicate, rich and smooth in your mouth.

Häagen-Dazs adds these unique strawberries to its rich ice cream to create the finest strawberry ice cream. This summer, the brand spotlights the flavor with the launch of the new Sweet Balsamic Strawberry Sundae:

• Sweet Balsamic Strawberry Sundae – features two scoops of creamy strawberry ice cream, drizzled with handmade tangy balsamic strawberry sauce and topped with whipped cream. The balsamic strawberry sauce combines with the ice cream to create a flavor that is sweet, tangy and creamy.
