The UPS Store Names Tim Davis as President

SAN DIEGO - July 25, 2012 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - UPS (NYSE:UPS) has named Tim Davis president of The UPS Store ® franchise network.

Davis has served as vice president of operations for The UPS Store network since 2009 after joining the company in 2002 as vice president of technology. During this time, he also held the position of vice president/general manager of iShip, Inc., a UPS subsidiary. He has been responsible for the development and implementation of a variety of new technologies to better meet the needs of customers; the introduction of a new strategy to help grow print services for franchisees, and programs designed to drive operational excellence within The UPS Store network.

“Since joining the company 10 years ago, Tim has demonstrated his ability to help The UPS Store network meet its operational objectives and grow the business by better serving our customers and franchisees,” said Myron Gray, UPS’s president of U.S. operations. “I have every confidence that he can lead our franchise owners to even greater levels of growth.”

A native of Little Rock, Ark., Davis holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from The Citadel as well as a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Tulsa. Prior to joining The UPS Store franchise network, he held a variety of leadership positions for ConnectShip, Inc. (formerly TanData Corporation), including vice president of operations and sales. Davis is a former captain in the United States Marine Corps and a Gulf War Veteran.

Davis is replacing Stuart Mathis, who announced his retirement last week.

Mathis joined the franchise network in January 2001 as executive vice president of operations and became president in August 2002. As president, Mathis led The UPS Store network in the growth of its print services; non-traditional site development; new technology; sponsorship with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, and participation in Operation Enduring Opportunity -- an initiative launched by the White House, the International Franchise Association (IFA) and its members and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce with a goal to recruit and/or hire as many as 75,000 military veterans and their family members by the end of 2014.

In addition to domestic and international shipping, The UPS Store franchise network offers a variety of services to help with the logistics of running a small business, including professional printing services, mailboxes with a real street address, packing services, direct mail and notary services.
