CUPS Frozen Yogurt – That’s Hot ™ Opening in South Plainfield on August 2

August 01, 2012 // Franchising.com // South Plainfield, NJ - CUPS Frozen Yogurt, the beach-themed self-serve fro-yo concept, will open its ninth New Jersey location at 7 pm on Thursday, August 2 at 7000 Hadley Road, South Plainfield.

During the grand opening weekend, August 2-5, each customer will be given a "scratch off" which contains prizes such as wristbands, beach balls, water bottles, beach towels and CUPS coupons. One lucky person will receive free fro-yo for a year.

Since opening the first CUPS in Clifton, New Jersey in 2010, CUPS has taken the Tri-State area by storm, becoming the local hot spot for teenagers and adults alike who make their own fro-yo concoctions choosing from 24 yogurt flavors and over 50 different toppings and three sauces.

In the past year, CUPS has opened new locations in Bridgewater, East Brunswick, East Hanover, Paramus, Bayonne, Morristown and Secaucus. Additional locations in New Jersey and New York are slated to open later this summer and fall.

According to CUPS co-founder Rick Barbrick, CUPS is much more than great frozen yogurt; CUPS was designed around the experience.

“It’s more of a club like experience. We pump out club dance music at volumes that create a highly energetic vibe, a lounge-type design with couches, ottomans and eclectic murals; and Cast Members with infectiously fun personalities. It’s the complete experience that gives us that edgy vibe versus an everyday yogurt bar or ice cream shop experience,” said Barbrick.
