Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers Opening in Frisco, Texas, on Monday, October 15

Handcrafted pizza, artwork centered around pop art culture and over 75 craft beers with a members only Beer Club are just a few great reasons to stop into Mellow Mushroom Frisco beginning on Monday, October 15.

October 08, 2012 // Franchising.com // Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers is proud to announce their newest opening Frisco, Texas, on Monday, October 15. Mellow Mushroom is located at 2809 Preston Road, STE. 1200 next to Stonebriar Mall at the intersection of Preston Road and Highway 121.

Luis Gonzalez, owner of this new Mellow, is thrilled to bring a casual, friendly and energized atmosphere to Frisco: “My family fell in love with the Mellow Mushroom location in Germantown, Tennessee. My kids and wife love the unique concept and unmatched taste in pizza. The Kosmic Karma and Red Skin Potato Pie are our favorites,” states Gonzalez, “Frisco is a fast growing city with a vibrant and energetic market, where Mellow will be a great addition. We knew this would be the perfect location.”

The menu features a variety of handcrafted pizzas, hoagies, salads, calzones and appetizers, and Mellow uses only the highest quality ingredients. Options for vegetarians, vegans and kids are available, as well as gluten free options.

Inspired by the owner’s interest in glass, and a desire for expressing the origins of the Mellow culture through pop art, this Mellow provides a unique 360-degree experience. Entering through the front doors of the round Spanish influenced turret, guests are greeted by an artfully crafted metal and found objects robot. Stepping inside this art gallery-esque space, blocks of color carry the eye from point to point throughout the restaurant allowing the viewer to experience a variety of art pieces as curated through mid-century eyes.

• The bar ceiling consists of layered light boxes illuminating through a collage of colored glass and glass objects.
• The back bar explores painted glass with a colorful printed graphic of a field of mushrooms.
• A private patio bar incorporates an actual vintage VW bus, appearing to be pulled up to the side of the patio for an impromptu party.
• Elsewhere in the restaurant visitors will see word art made with everyday items spelling "mellow" words, a Lichtenstein inspired graphic complete with lighted thought bubble, a black-and-white striped Mel caricature covering the walls of a private dining space and a custom chandelier made with internally lit clear tubes that have been filled with marbles.

The new Mellow has something for everyone, including a large spacious dining room and a seasonal covered patio. These are just a few carefully constructed details that enhance the warm, welcoming and family friendly environment of Mellow.

To complement the dining experience there is a full service bar, which serves up a great variety of craft beers, wines and cocktails. Adventurous guests can join the Mellow Mushroom Beer Club and taste their way through an ever-changing, selection of craft beers on draft or in bottles as they receive special members’ only rewards along the way. Some of these unique and enticing rewards include an engraved member mug and plaque, your favorite draft beer selection on the draft wall, brewery tours and a night out on the town in Dallas. Mellow will also feature lively trivia nights, sports packages on television and other exciting events.
