Gloria Solomon-Aggrey Honored as the Recipient of the 2012 Home Health Aide Achievement Award

Home Care Assistance Caregiver, Gloria Solomon-Aggrey, Recognized for her Professional Commitment to her Senior Clients

(PRWEB) October 17, 2012 - Home Care Assistance, North America’s premier provider of in-home care, is proud to announce Gloria Solomon-Aggrey, a caregiver with the Washington D.C. office for four years, as the winner of Maryland National Capital Home Care Association (MNCHA)’s 2012 Home Health Aide Achievement Award. Each year, the Home Health Aide Achievement Award recognizes a single exemplary caregiver in the greater Maryland and Washington D.C. area who demonstrates the highest quality care and professionalism for client service.

Gloria Solomon-Aggrey was selected based upon her extensive client care experience and, in particular, her willingness to go above and beyond to deliver exceptional care to her client for the past three years. During this time, Solomon-Aggrey has assisted the wife of a prominent Washington D.C. businessman; she suffers from advanced dementia. Even as her client's condition has worsened, Solomon-Aggrey has remained a steady presence, helping keep her client remain emotionally and physically stable. On more than one occasion, she has volunteered to take extra shifts, accompanied her client to important events, and stayed beyond her scheduled hours to ensure continuity of care.

In one particular instance, Solomon-Aggrey's client was feeling particularly anxious. Solomon-Aggrey realized that her shift was coming to an end and that her client would have to transition to another caregiver. She decided that, rather than put her client through the additional stress of adjusting to a new face, she would stay an extra day to help. Not wanting to leave until she was sure her client was content, Solomon-Aggrey stayed an extra three days over her scheduled time. By the end of the third day she and her client were once again happily reading together on the back porch.

Home Care Assistance congratulates Gloria Solomon-Aggrey on her award, and thanks her for her exceptional client-centered service.

"We are very proud of Gloria," said Maura Barillaro, Home Care Assistance Director of Nursing. "She is an inspiration for our caregivers and our staff, and we couldn't be happier that her hard work is being recognized."
