Cafe2U Coffee Franchise Finishes First Year in U.S. With Coast-to-Coast Presence

World's Largest Mobile Espresso Franchise Is Proving Itself in Five Cities, With Many More on the Way

BEND, OR - (Marketwire - Dec 19, 2012) - Cafe2U, the world's largest mobile espresso franchise, established a coast-to-coast presence during its first year in the United States, putting its gourmet coffee franchise on the road in California, Oregon, Colorado, Georgia and Florida.

"We're excited to see that people here love Cafe2U coffee just as much as everyone else," said Cafe2U USA President and CEO Scott Bundy.

The brand got its start in Australia in 2000 and started franchising in 2005. It has 200 franchises in Australia, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, South Africa, Germany, and the States.

Bundy expects to open 12 more franchises in 2013 and said he believes the $19 billion American coffee market will support 1,000. The United States is the leading coffee-consuming country on Earth, but many day workers toil in office parks and complexes with no easy access to a coffee shop.

Cafe2U solves that problem by putting a full café setup inside its vans. The back doors open to reveal a $7,000 espresso machine and a $1,000 grinder -- better equipment than you'll find in most coffee shops. The side door opens to a refrigerator full of milk for espresso drinks, gourmet food items, snacks, sodas and energy drinks. The vans follow a Monday-through-Friday route that allows them to serve as the coffee shop for dozens of businesses each day.

Customers have been thrilled.

"The people that I've met along the way, they're excited about it, which makes you feel good," said Ginger Romero, who started her Cafe2U business in Savannah, Ga., in August. "It's a great business for me, and also for the people here."

Romero wanted to own her own business after years as a retail manager, and she loved the idea of starting a different kind of coffee business that allowed her to get out from behind the counter and avoid the high overhead of a fixed location. She was also impressed by the Cafe2U USA management team.

"They love coffee and everything that goes into it," she says. "They are very passionate about the business and about us making money."
