New restaurant serves up Dairy Queen® iconic soft-serve treats, flavorful foods and Orange Julius® offerings.
January 08, 2013 // Franchising.com // WYLIE, Texas – The Dairy Queen® system’s newest, most exciting restaurant design has opened its doors at 420 South Highway 78. The new 2,725 square-foot DQ ® Restaurant has added 45 new jobs, contributing to Wylie’s employment growth. The new restaurant also will contribute to the state’s restaurant sales, which according to the National Restaurant Association, are projected to increase by 5 percent this year.
“We are excited to open our first DQ Restaurant in Wylie and welcome the community in to enjoy our full menu of cravable food items, cool treats and Orange Julius® specialty fruit smoothies and drinks,” said restaurant operator Robert Glass, who also owns DQ Restaurants in Waxahachie and Red Oak. “This new restaurant is sure to become a location where families and friends can gather to share smiles and stories over a great meal and treats.”
An Array of Menu Options
The DQ® Restaurant concept blends the best of DQ iconic history with the most modern innovations in the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry. The Texas Country Foods® menu features the quarter- and half-pound Hungr-Buster® made to order with premium flavor options, as well as other delicious and unique food items, including Texas T-Brand Tacos, Grilled and Crispy Chick'n Sandwiches, Steak Sandwiches and the Chick’n Strip or Steak Finger Country Basket®, which also are available for either lunch or dinner. Breakfast menu options include the Egg-Buster Sandwich, Biscuits and Gravy, Big Country Platter and Breakfast Burritos. The new restaurant also will feature all of the DQ treat favorites, such as the iconic Blizzard® Treats, MooLatté® frozen coffee-flavored beverages, Blizzard Cakes and a wide variety of other soft-serve items.
Along with all of the DQ favorites, guests will enjoy delicious Orange Julius Premium Fruit smoothies and fruit-blended beverages on the menu. Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies are made with real fruit and low-fat yogurt, and are blended fresh for customers upon ordering. The refreshing, frothy real-fruit Julius Originals are also blended fresh. Flavors for both Julius Originals and Premium Fruit Smoothies include Orange, Strawberry, Strawberry Banana, Tripleberry® and Mango Pineapple.
Design and Décor
The DQ Restaurant interior brings an innovative dimension to QSR dining. Highlighted by the modern open-air grill, the restaurant features comfortable booths and large wooden tables, warm lighting, music and an overall inviting environment.
The restaurant can seat 76 guests inside, with outside seating available and also offers a convenient drive-thru window.
