Edible Arrangements® Debuts New Mother's Day Collection

Hand-sculpted fresh fruit bouquets and dipped fruit offer a healthier gift alternative for moms.

WALLINGFORD, Conn. - April 22, 2013 // PRNewswire // - Edible Arrangements® has something new for moms this year and if history is any indication, a record number of mothers nationwide will celebrate their special day with hand-sculpted fresh fruit bouquets.

The 2013 Mother's Day Edible Arrangements® collection features several new products and a new ceramic keepsake pitcher. All are now available at ediblearrangements.com/freshnews or at more than 1,100 Edible Arrangements® locations across the country.

Edible Arrangements® has set a Mother's Day weekend sales record for 11 consecutive years. Last year, the pioneer and leader in fresh fruit arrangements delivered more than 5 million strawberries and over 1 million pineapple hearts for moms, grandmothers, daughters and loved ones across the country.

Edible Arrangements® CEO Tariq Farid said the reason for the surge in popularity of the alternative to traditional flower arrangements is simple.

"Healthy living is a top priority for consumers," Farid said. "There are many ways to wish Happy Mother's Day to that special person, but we offer a smart, delicious option that will make mom say 'WOW.'"

And according to a recent "Snacking in America" report from The NPD Group, the popularity of fresh fruit is continuing to grow. The research firm declared fresh fruit as the number one snack in the U.S. and one of the fastest-growing snacks in popularity, with Americans snacking on fresh fruit an average of 10 times more than chocolate and 25 times more than potato chips.

Edible Arrangements® introduces several new fresh fruit bouquets and dipped fruit boxes to its Mother's Day collection this year including the Mother's Day Bouquet featuring dipped strawberries, pineapple-shaped hearts, cantaloupe, honeydew and grapes. Additional arrangements include:

  • Blooming Hearts™: Featuring signature pineapple hearts, plus an assortment of fresh strawberries and grapes.
  • Lovely Daisy™ with Dipped Strawberries: Featuring gourmet semisweet chocolate dipped strawberries, fresh pineapple hearts, cantaloupe, honeydew and grapes.
  • Lovely Indulgence Strawberries: Includes one dozen strawberries dipped in gourmet semisweet chocolate and for added indulgence, topped with a variety of chocolate morsels and heart shaped sprinkles.

The Mother's Day Collection is available to view at ediblearrangements.com/freshnews.
