RadioShack Begins Collecting Customer Donations To Benefit Texas and Oklahoma Tornado Victims

FORT WORTH, Texas - May 22, 2013 // PRNewswire // - RadioShack Corporation today announced it will accept customer donations to the American Red Cross to directly benefit victims of tornadoes in Texas and Oklahoma. The donations can be made at the point of sale at all RadioShack stores nationwide.

When checking out, customers will have the option of donating $1, $5 or $10 to directly benefit tornado victims in Oklahoma and Texas.

"We are saddened by the loss of life, homes and other vital property as a result of these violent storms," said Joe Magnacca , chief executive officer. "We are partnering with the American Red Cross in providing these donations, which will go directly to helping the relief efforts and rebuilding in these affected communities."

Donations can be made at any RadioShack location and will help cover the cost of emergency shelter, food, recovery and other assistance to families impacted by the storms.

RadioShack will match a portion of the contributions, and also will donate needed product – including mobile phones, chargers, power inverters, generators, batteries, flashlights, and other emergency items -- that will be delivered to affected areas.
