Ameen R. Najjar Joins Taft's Indianapolis Office

June 10, 2013 // Franchising.com // INDIANAPOLIS, IN -Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP is pleased to announce that Ameen R. Najjar has joined the firm’s Indianapolis office as of counsel in the Labor and Employment practice group.

Najjar focuses his practice on various aspects of labor and employment law, sports law, college and university law, and administrative law, with a concentration on employment and collegiate sports litigation. His practice includes representing clients before administrative hearing boards, conducting internal investigations, compliance, defense of NCAA bylaw allegations, and negotiating and drafting sports-related employment contracts.

His experience includes counseling six Indianapolis chiefs-of-police on a broad range of labor and employment issues, particularly as lead counsel in the prosecution of high-profile disciplinary matters before the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Merit Board, litigating NCAA infractions cases before all three divisions of the Committee on Infractions, acting as a corporate representative in a five-week trial relating to the successful defense of a multi-million dollar defamation claim against the NCAA, representing various public and private entities before State of Indiana administrative hearing boards, and representing government municipalities in mediation and federal and state court settlement conferences.

Najjar earned his bachelor of arts degree from Michigan State University with a dual major in criminal justice and political science, and he received his J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Society. Najjar is also a graduate of the U.S. Department of Justice, FBI 17th National Law Institute.
