Massage Envy Spa Announces Expansion Plans For Indiana With New Opening In Evansville This Month

Nation's Largest Massage Therapy Franchise to Open Four Additional Locations Over Next Year

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Aug. 1, 2013 // PRNewswire // - Massage Envy Spa, the pioneer and national leader of professional, convenient and affordable massage and spa services, announced today plans to expand in Indiana. Charlie Marsh, regional developer for the area, stated that a location in Evansville is slated to open in August. Currently, there are 14 Massage Envy Spa clinics open in Indiana, with four additional locations in the construction phase and opening within the next six months. In total, Massage Envy Spa plans to have 20 to 25 clinics open in Indiana in the next couple of years.

"We are extremely excited about the opening of the 15th location in Indiana," said Charlie Marsh, Massage Envy Spa regional developer for Indiana. "As we continue to expand across the state, we are looking for entrepreneurs who want to start their own business and join a company that offers the opportunity to see instant results – with Massage Envy Spa, we can change lives in an hour."

Charlie Marsh fell in love with Massage Envy Spa as a member in Scottsdale, Ariz., where she received massages at her clinic monthly for five years. Marsh had a dream of owning her own business, and when she weighed her options, Massage Envy Spa had everything she had been looking for in a concept: a proven successful model, something she was passionate about, as well as a business that could help people. As operator of one location and the regional developer for the other 14 clinics, Marsh is seeking franchisees to help expand Massage Envy Spa into Indianapolis' East Side, Lawrence, Bloomington, Kokomo, Columbus and East Fort Wayne, Ind.

Today, there are more than 890 Massage Envy Spa locations in 47 states, making it the largest system of franchised massage clinics in the industry. The company also is the world's largest employer of licensed/registered massage therapists with at least 21,000 therapists providing over 16 million massages a year to a total of more than 1.3 million members.

Over the next several years, Massage Envy Spa is seeking to expand across the country. To fuel this growth, the company is looking for specific franchisee candidates who have the ability and the desire to learn and follow a system that ensures value and customer satisfaction. Qualified franchisee candidates should have business sales or management experience, but do not necessarily need to have a massage therapy or spa operations background. They also should possess a minimum net worth of $500,000 and liquid assets of at least $150,000. Depending on the real estate, Massage Envy Spa franchisees can expect their initial investment to range from approximately $331,485 – $825,623, including the franchisee fee.
