August 29, 2013 // Franchising.com // McLEAN, Va – Embassy Suites Hotels and Hampton Inn & Suites recently broke ground on a new dual-branded property in Hillsboro, OR. The groundbreaking was marked with an official ceremony attended by local officials and executives from Hilton Worldwide, Western States Lodging and CM Construction Company, including Aron Carleson, Hillsboro council president; Anna Ellis, partner and project manager, CM Construction Company; and Gary Griffiths, partner, Western States Lodging.
Located approximately 20 miles outside of Portland, the hotels will be built side by side on NW Tanasbourne Drive, providing more options for both business and leisure travelers to the area. They will be ideally located near key corporations such as Intel, SolarWorld, Genentech, Nike and RadiSys, as well as leisure destinations including Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club, Gordon Faber Recreation Complex and The Reserve Golf Club and Vineyards.

The full-service, all-suites Embassy Suites will be a seven-story, upscale hotel with 165 two-room suites, a restaurant, lounge and 3200-square-feet of meeting space. The property will feature Embassy Suites’ flexible Design Option III model which enhances the guest experience by providing added space and more natural light in guest rooms and public areas, such as the atrium. The Hampton Inn & Suites will be a four-story, mid-priced hotel with 106 rooms and 600-square-feet of meeting space. Hampton Inn & Suites is anticipated to open in the spring of 2014 while the Embassy Suites will open in fall 2014. Western States Lodging is the developer of the project and will retain ownership and management of the complex.
