NOVUS Glass Welcomes New Maryland Franchisee Derek and Malika Covington

September 25, 2013 // Franchising.com // NOVUS Glass, the inventor of windshield repair, is proud to welcome their newest franchisee, Derek and Malika Covington of Bowie, Maryland. Before joining the NOVUS network Derek worked for Unity Health Care, a local nonprofit in the DC area that offers health care to homeless and low income families. Derek found helping and supporting the people of his community rewarding. In fact, Derek is also a trained firefighter. A jack of all traits, Derek’s has developed a variety of skills ranging from carpentry and landscaping to auto detailing. He also owned his own retail clothing store at one time. Malika has worked for the Maryland Department of Education for over 19 years, helping students obtain college educations.

Derek and Malika were looking for an opportunity to have a business of their own. “This is my true joy and path for life,” said Derek. The Covingtons were drawn to NOVUS because they wanted the structure and support of a franchise model and where they can bring their customer service and management experiences into their own business. They value the extensive training NOVUS provided them and the quality of workmanship illustrated throughout the organization. “We appreciate NOVUS’ focus on training and customer service,” said Derek. They also felt that NOVUS’ emphasis on “Repair First, Replace When Necessary” targets a true niche of customers in their area.

Both Derek and Malika love interaction with others and building relationships and will bring enthusiasm to their new NOVUS Glass business. Derek shared the key to creating a strong bond with your customers is good communication. “We will be clear and honest,” said Derek, “Our goal is to leave an indelible impression with customers, so that NOVUS will be their vendor of choice for future glass service needs.” Always wanting to exceed their customers’ expectations the Covingtons will provide prompt service and courteous attention of all their customers’ vehicles. Making sure the process is as convenient as possible; the Covingtons offer a fully functional mobile business. NOVUS Glass of Maryland takes every opportunity to exceed their customers’ needs, whether it is working directly with their insurance company or scheduling same day service.

“We at NOVUS are excited to have Derek and Malika Covington as our newest representatives in Maryland”, said Keith Beveridge, Senior Vice President of NOVUS, Inc. “The combination of skills and business experience they bring together will be beneficial to the success of their business. We know that their contributions will be a positive representation of NOVUS’ high standards of technical and customer service”.
