March 6, 2014 - Newberry, Fla. – The Dairy Queen® system announces the opening of the DQ Grill & Chill® restaurant at 24252 West Newberry Road in Newberry. The 2,200 square-foot restaurant has added more than 50 new jobs, contributing to Newberry’s employment growth. The new restaurant also will contribute to the state’s restaurant sales, which according to the National Restaurant Association are projected to increase by 4.7 percent this year.
“We are excited to open the first DQ Grill & Chill restaurant in Newberry and welcome the community in to enjoy our full menu of delicious food items, cool treats and Orange Julius® Premium Fruit Smoothies, Light Smoothies and Julius® Original drinks,” said Dennis Bradley, operations manager for Hudson Foods Stores. “This new restaurant is sure to become a location where fans can gather to relax and enjoy a great meal and treats.”
In addition to several breakfast menu options, such as Biscuits and Gravy, the Ultimate Breakfast Burrito and a variety of biscuit sandwiches, the food menu features the quarter- and half-pound GrillBurgerTM made to order, as well as other delicious and unique food items, including deli-style Iron Grilled Sandwiches. Other menu offerings include Grilled or Crispy Chicken Sandwiches and Salads; Chicken Strip Baskets; Quesadillas and Chili Cheese Dogs.
The DQ system’s value meal, $5 Buck Lunch, is available daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at this location. Fans have a choice of a quarter-pound GrillBurger with cheese, 3-piece Chicken Strip Lunch or a Chili Cheese Dog, which are all served with fries, a beverage and choice of a sundae. For just $1 more, fans also will have the option to upgrade their small sundae to a small Blizzard® Treat.
Along with all of the DQ favorites, such as the signature Blizzard Treats, MooLatté® frozen blended coffee beverages, DQ Cakes and waffle bowl sundaes and cones, fans can choose from a variety of fruit-blended beverages, including delicious Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies, Light Smoothies and Julius Original drinks in eight flavors including Orange, Strawberry, Strawberry Banana, Tripleberry®, Mango Pineapple, Berry Pomegranate, OrangeBerry and Piña Colada. In addition, protein or banana boosts can be added. The Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies are made fresh to order with real fruit blended with low-fat yogurt. The Orange Julius Light Smoothies are 170 calories or less in a small size, contain no artificial sweeteners or flavors and are yogurt free.
The restaurant can seat 42 guests and also offers a convenient drive-thru window.
