Salons By JC Names Retired Air Force Major and Former Fantastic Sams Region Director Drew Johnston as VP of Operations

April 16, 2014 // Franchising.com // SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Salons By JC, the nation's fastest-growing salon suite franchise concept, announces the appointment of Drew Johnston as Vice President of Operations.

In his new role, Johnston will be responsible for maintaining, creating, and promoting the operational procedures within the corporate salons, while fusing those procedures and the Salons By JC culture into programs that will benefit the salon franchises. In addition, he will assist company co-founder Jack Griffey with the real estate piece of the company's franchise development efforts.

"Drew is a multi-talented and respected leader with highly regarded strengths in organizational leadership, administration and management," said Griffey. "His comprehensive history in both the private and public sectors, particularly his extensive background in franchising, will no doubt translate to a direct impact on our growth and profitability."

Johnston brings more than 11 years of experience in franchise operations, sales and marketing to Salons By JC. Most recently, he served as a Region Director for haircut and beauty salon chain Fantastic Sams, where he provided direct support to over 45 franchisees, 120 units and more than 600 employees across nine states. Prior to his tenure with Fantastic Sams, Johnston, a 23-year veteran of the United States Air Force who retired as a Major in 2003, spent 10 years as an executive officer and training commander in various flying units and with the Air Force Security Forces.

These developments will expand Salon By JC's national footprint into 15 new states and introduce the company's unique business and franchise opportunity to major metropolitan areas such as Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York and Phoenix, among others.
