Joel Henry Brings Engineering Expertise to FaegreBD's Patent Team

May 09, 2014 // Franchising.com // Indianapolis - Faegre Baker Daniels is proud to announce that Joel Henry has joined the firm as an associate in the intellectual property group, where he prepares and prosecutes patent applications, primarily in the electrical and mechanical arts.

Prior to attending law school, Henry was an electrical project engineer with United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS), where he led engineering efforts associated with manufacture, assembly and testing of water processing and oxygen generation system controllers as well as gas and liquid sensors for operation onboard NASA's International Space Station. While at UTAS, Henry also managed all aspects of international trade compliance surrounding engineering and operations, including compliance with Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Henry is a 2013 graduate from the University of Connecticut School of Law. During law school, he served as a summer associate at FaegreBD. He earned his bachelor's degree, also from the University of Connecticut, in electrical engineering in 2006.

A 12-year member of the Air National Guard, Henry has deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and is also a recipient of the Air Force Achievement Medal for meritorious service. He is currently a captain and cyberspace operations officer in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
