June 16, 2014 // Franchising.com // Planet Sub has announced their plans to expand into the Cleveland and Akron markets in late 2014 with a five store area development agreement with new franchisee Aaron Shoemaker and Rymaker Enterprises, LLC.
Shoemaker says, "We are excited to bring the 'PSUB' experience to Ohio. Our goal is to expand in Northern Ohio with multiple locations. We would also love to bring Planet Sub to Central Ohio in the future." Aaron was initially drawn to the concept because, "...it was positively different. The menu was unlike all the other sub franchises we previously looked at. The only thing we had to do was try the food. We are confident that once people try the food for themselves, they will be back again, and again, and again."
Planet Sub prides itself in it's progressive and varied menu offerings including over 40 oven baked sub options, salads, tortilla and romaine wraps, soups, and their renowned homemade bread, which is mixed on site, rolled by hand, and baked fresh each day. While other sub chains prepare vast quantities of frozen dough in commissaries, Planet Sub has held fast to making each loaf from scratch on-site, a tradition that dates back to the company's origins in 1979.
Planet Sub currently has 34 open units, and 45 stores in development with plans to open at least 7 more brick and mortar stores in 2014.
