New Orleans-Based Company Opens in Cairo, Egypt

July 21, 2014 // Franchising.com // NEW ORLEANS – Planet Beach is excited to announce the opening of the first Planet Beach automated spa in Cairo, Egypt. Planet Beach Cairo has strategically partnered with Gold's Gym to ensure a strong and consistent member base.

The unique partnership between Planet Beach and Gold's Gym is seen to serve both customer bases well. After a strong workout, members can walk over to Planet Beach to get a quick hydration or massage session in before heading out to enjoy their day.

While the spa industry in Egypt is booming, most spas are located in four- or five-star hotels, which makes it very expensive. Planet Beach offers affordable luxury to those wanting to relax and achieve a healthy glow or rejuvenate their skin.

Battoul Shamsi, Spa Director of Planet Beach Cairo, has worked for Planet Beach since 2010, when the first Planet Beach opened in Egypt. Shamsi graduated with a degree in fashion and design; however, she fell in love with the Planet Beach concept and was excited to begin her journey to become a Spa Director and expand the concept in Egypt. "Planet Beach is the only automated spa in Egypt. It is also the only membership based spa," Shamsi Stated.

Planet Beach Cairo is celebrating their soft opening and plans to be fully operational by the beginning of September. For now, Gold's Gym members can enjoy complimentary HydroMassage, spray tanning and massage sessions. In September, Planet Beach begins selling memberships to the spa.

"I am so passionate about Planet Beach," Shamsi went on to say, "I had the opportunity to attend training at the world headquarters in New Orleans, Louisiana, for one month before we opening our first spa. It was an amazing learning opportunity and I had so much fun."

Planet Beach is not finished its expansion in Egypt. An automated spa is slated to open soon in Jeddah.
