Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ Eco-Wise Element Brand to Debut in Syracuse, New York

Element Syracuse Inner Harbor to open in 2018 next to Aloft Syracuse Inner Harbor in the City’s Revitalized Waterfront District

STAMFORD, Conn. - July 29, 2014 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) today announced that its trailblazing Element brand is headed to Syracuse, New York. Element Syracuse Inner Harbor will open in early 2018 as part of a massive waterfront redevelopment project along the former Barge Canal. Element Syracuse Inner Harbor will be located adjacent to Aloft Syracuse Inner Harbor, which is set to open in 2015. Both hotels are owned and developed by COR Development Company, LLC, and will be managed by Real Hospitality Group.

The hotel will be a short walk to Destiny USA Center, a major shopping and entertainment destination with more than 1.3 million square feet of outlets, restaurants and retail stores. The hotel will be just over one mile from downtown Syracuse, approximately two miles from both Syracuse University and SUNY Upstate Medical University, and close to the offices of Lockheed Martin and AXA Financial.
