Local Entrepreneur to Open Children's Lighthouse Learning Center in Cary

Seasoned Telecommunications Professional Signs Agreement to Open Premier Educational Childcare Center

September 22, 2014 // Franchising.com // CARY, N.C. – Children's Lighthouse Learning Centers, widely recognized as the leading values-based, early-education childcare provider in the United States, announced today that their Cary location has broken ground this week. The center is expected to open by late spring 2015.

"Families have fallen in love with the Children's Lighthouse Learning Centers around Charlotte, and we're excited to introduce families in Cary to the cutting edge Children's Lighthouse experience," said Davidarulappan, a local entrepreneur who left telecommunications to start this childcare center. "Cary is an ideal community for Children's Lighthouse, and parents will be delighted by our focus on values-based educational curriculum and hand-on teaching methods", he added.

Davidarulappan is transitioning into entrepreneurship after a long career in the telecommunications field. He earned his masters degree in English Literature from Madras Christian College in India. He then moved to the United States to be with his wife Kanni and daughter Venmathy. Raja continued his education at Middle Tennessee State University where he earned a masters degree in Computer Science. Kanni earned her masters degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University. Venmathy earned her Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

The new center will offer classroom and group activity settings, including ample age- appropriate play areas both inside and outside the facility, and will provide on-site meal services. Typical Children's Lighthouse Learning Centers include a 10,500 square foot classroom facility and serve families with children from 6 months old to 12 years old. In addition to childcare during traditional school hours, the new Cary center will also provide after-school programs and summer camps.

Children's Lighthouse Learning Centers are safe and secure environments that give parents peace of mind, including online video links to rooms, computerized building entry, security monitoring, and transportation to and from area elementary schools.

With experienced educational childcare professionals guiding the company's operations, Children's Lighthouse has embedded award-winning curriculums into its programming, designed to teach young children reading, math, and science as well as character values. The curriculum also incorporates elements of fun and entertainment to keep kids engaged at all times.

Along with the forthcoming Cary center, 20 new Children's Lighthouse Learning Centers are in development or under construction, preparing to join the 40 that are already operating.

"We are proud to enter new communities and expand in those that already have a Children's Lighthouse center, with the help of talented individuals such as Raja who share our passion for education and values," said Pat Brown, president and co-founder of Children's Lighthouse Learning Centers. "We are lucky to have this opportunity to carry on the Children's Lighthouse tradition in North Carolina with a new school in Cary and doing so with someone as gifted as Raja. With his qualifications, Children's Lighthouse has a bright future in the region."

Launched 18 years ago, Children's Lighthouse provides entrepreneurs with the opportunity to open in attractive metropolitan areas. Ownership in a Children's Lighthouse franchise includes a full suite of support services, including site selection, financing guidance, construction administration, and grand opening marketing best practices. Children's Lighthouse's initial and ongoing training and support is led by an experienced team of childcare veterans, providing the franchise owner invaluable insight and leadership for the entire life of the franchise.
