Planet Smoothie Franchise Expanding in Atlanta, Seeks Area Developer

The Smoothie Franchise Says Atlanta Can Support Twice as Many Locations

ATLANTA, GA - (Marketwired - Oct 14, 2014) - Nearly 20 years after Planet Smoothie got its start in Atlanta, the smoothie franchise has plans to double its number of locations in the market, and it's looking for a partner to help make that happen.

Planet Smoothie has 14 locations in metro Atlanta - stretching from Morrow to Alpharetta - and more than 100 stores nationwide. It sees opportunities to expand in Inman Park, Midtown Mile, Atlantic Station, Buckhead, Briarcliff, Virginia Highland, Tuxedo Park, Johns Creek, Sandy Springs and Alpharetta.
CEO Peter Holt said that the outstanding quality of Planet Smoothie's menu has helped it grow into a prominent brand in the Southeast, and now the brand is aiming to expand its footprint nationwide. The company was purchased by a new management team in 2011, and the resulting resources and support have helped fuel three consecutive years of same-store sales growth.

Now that the brand is focused on adding and supporting franchisees nationwide, it is seeking an area developer who can work exclusively to develop the Atlanta market.

"We're looking for a passionate entrepreneur who can focus energy on growing the brand in Atlanta," Holt says. "Atlanta is full of professionals who need places that offer healthier choices that are convenient and that taste great. The business opportunity is tremendous."

The area developer will support the efforts of existing franchisees and will also help educate people interested in opening Planet Smoothie franchises, in exchange for a percentage of franchise and royalty fees.

About Planet Smoothie

Planet Smoothie is known for using healthier ingredients that offer superior nutrition - the flavor and nutrition of its smoothies have helped the brand develop a strong following. Where other smoothie franchises use artificial flavorings, Planet Smoothie uses real fruits and vegetables. Other brands use sugar to sweeten their smoothies, but Planet Smoothie has developed a proprietary sweetener made from stevia and agave nectar. Its smoothies typically have fewer calories than similar items from competitors.
