October 24, 2014 // Franchising.com // MADISON, N.J. - Coldwell Banker Real Estate announced the winners of the brand's most prestigious awards during the company's annual conference, the 2014 Generation Blue Experience. The Chandler Barton Spirit, Preserving the Trust, and Coldwell Banker Hero of the Year awards recognize the sales associate, manager, and broker/owner affiliated with the Coldwell Banker® brand who best exemplify generosity, leadership and excellence. The winners were nominated by their peers and selected from approximately 85,000 Coldwell Banker professionals worldwide.

The winners of the company's most prestigious awards for 2014 are:

Coldwell Banker Chandler Barton Spirit Award

Laurent Demeure, president and CEO of Coldwell Banker France & Monaco

Named after Chandler Barton, president of Coldwell Banker Real Estate from 1989 to 1996, this accolade honors a "can do" attitude and ongoing legacy that leaves a lasting impression on the Coldwell Banker system through leadership, vision and engaging personality.

Demeure earned the award for his unwavering commitment to his sales team, staff and consumers while persevering through the housing market and economic uncertainty in Europe. Demeure's business expertise turned economic challenges into opportunities for growth as he managed to make the Coldwell Banker brand one of the fastest growing real estate organizations in France in 2013.

Coldwell Banker Preserving the Trust Award

Richard Smith, owner of Coldwell Banker United, REALTORS in Texas, Florida and the Carolinas

The Preserving the Trust Award honors a member of the Coldwell Banker network who has consistently and successfully exemplified the heritage of high standards, trust, loyalty and customer service throughout their affiliation with Coldwell Banker.

With more than 40 years of experience in the real estate industry, Smith received the award for his tireless efforts moving forward the cause of homeownership while focusing on honesty and ethics, thereby creating customers for life. Smith established Coldwell Banker United, REALTORS in 1986 and continued its growth across the southern region of Texas, Florida and the Carolinas over the next two decades. Smith's extensive work also includes raising more than $2 million for the American Cancer Society during the past 13 years.

Coldwell Banker Hero of the Year Award

William and Kathryn "Tiki" McIntyre, sales associates with Coldwell Banker TEC Realtors in New Orleans, Louisiana

William and Tiki McIntyre were awarded the Hero of the Year Award for their ongoing dedication and support in strengthening communities through charitable efforts. They created "NOLA Loves the Philippines," a disaster relief fundraiser event for the victims of Super-Typhoon Haiyan. Their activities raised $75,000, which was used to buy 100 fishing boats and create a boat co-op for the residents of Estancia in the Philippines.

System-wide, brokers, sales associates and staff affiliated with the Coldwell Banker Heroes program, the Coldwell Banker brand's charitable recognition program, raised nearly $5.1 million and 18,000 hours to philanthropic causes worldwide in 2013.
