Planet Fitness Puts Members' Stories in the Spotlight with "Planet of Triumphs"

New Online Community Celebrates Accomplishments and Inspirational Stories

NEWINGTON, N.H. - Oct. 28, 2014 // PRNewswire // - Planet Fitness is known for its Judgement® Free Zone where members have a welcoming, non-intimidating environment to achieve and celebrate all accomplishments, big and small – from stepping into the gym for the first time, to running their first mile or losing hundreds of pounds. Now, Planet Fitness is recognizing those members and their triumphs with the launch of a new online community called Planet of Triumphs.

With Planet of Triumphs, the brand is creating a platform on the belief that every achievement deserves to be celebrated. Members are able to share their personal stories and be publicly supported by other members for their accomplishments. Visitors to the site, PlanetOfTriumphs.com, will be greeted with a feed of triumphant tales from all across the Planet Fitness community, and by following, commenting and "elevating" others' posts, members can truly understand and enjoy what can be achieved in a Judgement Free environment. The site will also be permanently linked to www.PlanetFitness.com.

The Planet of Triumphs community already includes several stories to inspire other members. For example:

• Kayla from Fall River, MA – after suffering from scoliosis and undergoing major back surgery which led to weight gain, she worked up the courage to join Planet Fitness. Working out helped her recover emotionally and physically.
• Bea and Larry from Burlington, VT – both members are over 90 years old, and have been working out at Planet Fitness as a couple for the past eight years.
• Jim in Omaha, NE and Melissa in Fort Wayne, IN – have each lost more than 100 pounds.
• Audrey and Cynthia from Worcester, MA – friends for 47 years, they motivate each other and work out together twice a week.

Members can join Planet of Triumphs either by creating a profile or signing up with their Facebook or Twitter accounts. Then they can begin crafting their story by posting a picture or video, and Planet Fitness makes it easy to start with their arsenal of backgrounds and "story starters."

To encourage others to share their achievements, all registered members will be eligible to win weekly prizes and the chance to be named "Triumph of the Week." Additionally, because Planet Fitness is proud of all its members and their accomplishments regardless of their fitness levels, all participants through December 16, 2014 will have the chance to win the ultimate grand prize – a walk-on role in a 2015 Planet Fitness commercial.
