December 12, 2014 // Franchising.com // Salt Lake City, UT - Unishippers Global Logistics, LLC, the nation's first and one of the largest small package and freight shipping resellers, is recognized in Transport Topics' "2014 Top 25 Freight Brokerage Firms" for the fifth year in a row. Unishippers was ranked No. 12 on this year's list.

Transport Topics' "Top 50" is a unique ranking of the third-party logistics companies in North America and includes listings of the largest freight brokerage firms, freight forwarders, warehouse operators and dedicated contract carriage service providers. The "Top 25 Freight Brokerage Firms" rankings for 2014 were based off of net revenue over the last year, along with data on air and ocean freight forwarding, dedicated contract carriage and warehousing.

"We are honored to be a part of this prestigious ranking," said Kevin Lathrop, President of Unishippers. "This is the icing on the cake of an exciting year that saw our company introduce a new subsidiary, Launch Logistics, LLC, sell our 10th national franchise, and cross the $425 million in revenue mark. We want to congratulate our franchisees, and thank our shipping partners and customers for helping us be among the top freight brokerage firms in the nation."

Unishippers has more than 290 franchise locations across the nation as well as 10 National franchises. This year, Unishippers expects to bring in a record number of new franchise owners, surpassing last year's mark of 19 new franchises sold in 2013.

Partnering with more than 30 regional and national shipping carriers, including UPS®, YRC Freight, Estes, Saia® and UPS Freight®, Unishippers offers small and mid-sized business owners complete shipping options, attractive pricing, and personal customer service that its customers can't receive anywhere else. As one of only two companies authorized by UPS to be their official shipping reseller, Unishippers has found success with this partnership because each company complements the other. The company recently launched a new subsidiary, Launch Logistics, which is intended to rapidly expand the company's salesforce and customer service expertise and operates alongside its accelerating franchise network, prompting further growth and hands-on learning that will benefit the entire franchise system.
