AlignLife of Norton Shores Makes a Brighter Christmas for Kids in Muskegon

Imagine waking up Christmas morning without any presents under the tree. That is a reality for some children in Muskegon, thankfully there are those who are making sure that doesn't happen.

Muskegon, Mi (PRWEB) December 21, 2014 - AlignLife of Norton Shores is spreading Christmas joy to a child in need while at the same time helping people get their health back. Mission for area People is a non-profit community-based organization committed to serving those persons in Muskegon County who are unable to find resources to meet their needs to improve the quality of life. Dr. Michael Rykse wanted to do a Toy Drive that would make an impact in the local community and he knew he found that when he heard what MAP was doing. Each year MAP provides gifts to children ages 1-18. Their Holiday Gift Shoppe is set up just like a store. Parents come and shop for new unwrapped gifts for their children. Volunteers wrap the gifts, put bows and name tags on them, and then carry the gifts to the family's vehicle.

Dr. Rykse stated "I was worried about the toy drive knowing we were a new office and not sure how many gifts we would be able to raise. The response from our patients and the community was incredible as our office was able to donate close to 60 gifts for MAP." Norton Shores AlignLife offices ability to raise close to 60 toys and knowing it is for the kids has made this event a lot of fun, one of which everyone has said they look forward to doing next year. Dr. Rykse decided to donate a first visit to those bringing in gifts and it really helped to bring in more Toys. To see the operation that MAP has going on was impressive. The volunteers were out in full force and everyone seemed really excited about being able to be apart of such a great event. Dr. Rykse knows it will be appreciated by the children on Christmas morning, and looks forward to bringing more joy next Christmas.
