Ben & Jerry's Gets a Bit Nutty with Half Baked for the Holidays

Peanut Butter Version of Most Popular Flavor Unveiled

BURLINGTON, Vt. - December 18, 2014 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Ben & Jerry's Flavor Gurus call it a new flavor. Existing "Half Baked" fans, especially given the holiday season, may consider it more of a gift. To celebrate Half Baked's decade and a half of success, and because everyone knows that the holidays can be a bit nutty, Ben & Jerry's is proud to unveil Peanut Butter Half Baked! The newest version in the Half Baked family includes a tasty twosome of chocolate and peanut butter ice creams mixed with gobs of peanut butter cookie dough and fudge brownies. "'Tis the season for togetherness," said Flavor Guru Peter Lind, who saw the concept through to a fully baked idea, "so we thought why not be peanut buttery and chocolaty togetherness?"

The original Half Baked ice cream flavor, which was launched almost 15 years ago, combines two of Ben & Jerry's most popular offerings: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice creams. As a fan favorite, Half Baked is one of only a handful of flavors launched in the past 15 years to break into the top 10 lineup. In 2013, Half Baked unseated Cherry Garcia, which had held onto the top slot as the best perennial seller since its release in 1987.

Peanut Butter Half Baked will appear on shelves across the nation throughout December and continue to spread good cheer into 2015. While it is certain to bring a little more joy to the world, just like the holidays, the flavor won't last forever. Fans will want to make a resolution (and this one they can keep!) to try the Limited Batch flavor while they can.

To Ben & Jerry's fans both near and far: a wish for peace and love this holiday season. And to all, a good night!
