The process began when franchisors were asked to participate in a survey conducted by Entrepreneur Magazine. All submissions were carefully vetted prior to being included for data input and analysis. Companies were ranked based on objective and quantifiable criteria which included system size, growth, financial strength and stability. Final rankings were based on financial and statistical data collected from July 2012 through July 2014.
