Nation’s Largest Pet Retail Franchise Continues Strong Growth with the Signing of Six Deals in Q1

Pet Supplies Plus Proves to be the Pick of the Litter in the $58 Billion Pet Industry

April 14, 2015 // Franchising.com // Livonia, Mich. – According to the recently released 2015 American Pet Products Association report, consumer pet spending shows no signs of halting. Pet owners spent $58 billion in 2014, which is only expected to increase with industry experts projecting to surpass the $60 billion mark this year.

Pet Supplies Plus has signed six new franchise agreements to bring the neighborhood pet store to Boca Raton, Florida; Tampa, Florida; Stephenville, Texas; Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Hartland, Michigan and Greenville, South Carolina.

This development comes on the heels of a strong 2014 in which Pet Supplies Plus opened a total of 10 franchise and 20 corporate stores, while inking deals with 17 new franchisees for continued momentum throughout 2015. The chain is on pace to open a total of 25 franchise stores over the next twelve months and company executives anticipate adding more than 200 new stores over the next five years.

Pet Supplies Plus also recently announced a partnership with Franchise America Finance that will make $15 million available to qualified franchise candidates. The full service commercial franchise finance firm will work with qualified Pet Supplies Plus franchise candidates, as well as current franchise owners who are pursuing expansion, to offer a comprehensive solution for financing through a franchise lending program created specifically for the pet supply retailer. Investments range from $300,000 to $885,000 for a small store to $400,000 to $1.1 million for a larger location.
