9-Time Grammy Winners Ray Benson, Asleep at the Wheel to Appear at Big Texas Party
April 15, 2015 // Franchising.com // KANSAS CITY, Mo. - There’ll be some hootin’ and hollerin’ going on in downtown Dallas when NAA hosts a Texas-style shindig at Eddie Deen’s Ranch. United Country and Texas Auction Academy are providing the evening’s entertainment – nine-time Grammy winners Ray Benson and Asleep at the Wheel.
The musicianship of Asleep at the Wheel has become the stuff of legends. Reuters pegged The Wheel as one of the best live acts in the business. Their awards include Touring Band of the Year (CMAs, 1976) and Lifetime Achievement in Performance (Americana Music Awards 2009), not to mention near dominance of the GRAMMY Country Instrumental category over the years. Over their history, Asleep at the Wheel released more than 25 studio and live albums, and there is no sign of slowing down any time soon.

The event takes place Tuesday, July 14 at 6 p.m. at Eddie Deen’s Ranch located at 944 S Lamar Street in Dallas. Participants will enjoy a true Texas-style with dinner, an Old West quick draw contest, rope tricks, as well as a special appearance and photo opportunities with Burton Gilliam, star of Blazing Saddles.
