Marilyn Monroe™ Spas Sees Strong Sales After Launching Unlimited Spa Service Memberships

Stay Polished Passport membership program exceeds expectations at Marilyn Monroe™ Spas, offering guests unlimited luxury spa and beauty services for $99 per month

April 29, 2015 // Franchising.com // ORLANDO, Fla. – It wasn’t long after Marilyn Monroe™ Spas unveiled its Stay Polished Passport that the national spa brand noticed a shift in how clients were experiencing beauty services at its locations. Building upon the trend of locations across the country offering single service memberships, Marilyn Monroe™ Spas decided to offer unlimited services in multiple service lines including blow outs, nail services, waxing, facials and massage treatments.

Since launching the program a little over a month ago, the national spa brand has sold more than 300 memberships, mostly at their six Nail Lounges and Glamour Rooms. Ten percent of sales were at their hotel spas where the memberships are available to locals. According to Al Weiss, Executive Chairman of Marilyn Monroe Spas, the Stay Polished Passport, a monthly membership program granting guests unlimited access to the spa service of their choice for only $99, is a game changer in the spa industry.

“Our Stay Polished Passport offers the luxury of visiting the spa as many times throughout the month as desired,” said founder and CEO of Marilyn Monroe™ Spas Niki T. Bryan. “The everyday woman is able to dash in, de-stress, get polished and glammed up, all at an unbelievably approachable price point – as often as she’d like. Men are also taking advantage of the unlimited memberships and we have added a men’s unlimited haircut and hair grooming service membership priced at $35 per month. The memberships are all part of the fresh, new approach we have applied to the spa industry. This new membership program continues to break the mold.”

Available at all Marilyn Monroe™ Spas, Marilyn Monroe™ Glamour Rooms and Marilyn Monroe™ Nail Lounges nationwide, the Stay Polished Passport features unlimited monthly memberships for the following services:

• Blow outs – Choose from a variety of signature styles including: beach waves, big and voluminous, loose curls, sleek and straight, soft horizontal waves or tight curls
• Nails – Includes any combination of manicures, pedicures and gel manicures
• Facials – Enjoy Marilyn’s Signature Facial
• Waxing – Includes brows, back, bikini, Brazilian, chest, arm, leg and underarms
• Massage – Enjoy Marilyn’s Signature Massage
• Men’s Haircut and Hair Grooming – Priced at $35 per month each

The company reports that unlimited nail and blow out memberships have been the most popular among its clients. One client, Domenique Lombardo of Lake Nona, FL, claims her unlimited blow out membership has been worth every penny.

“I visit the Marilyn Monroe Glamour Room in Winter Park, FL, for a blow out three times a week,” said Lombardo. “I want to look my best each and every day and this membership is just a part of that. There’s no way I could feel as glamorous or get my hair to look the same way if I were doing it myself. Candidly, I have not washed my own hair since purchasing the $99 blow out membership. Now that I can come here, I won’t have to!”

Weiss points out that Lombardo could not even get three blow outs a week for $99 at locations offering just blow outs.

Clients who have purchased the nail services membership are popping in for polish changes to match their mood or latest outfit, a not-so-guilty pleasure given the membership price point.

All services in the Stay Polished Passport are priced at $99 per month for each service type chosen. Guests are able to pick one, or choose to have multiple memberships at the same time. The memberships are available at all Marilyn Monroe™ Spas locations; hotel and resort spas offer the memberships to local guests. Not all services are offered at every location, i.e. nail lounges do not offer hair services. Memberships are non-transferable but can be used at any Marilyn Monroe™ Spa location. Number of memberships in each category are limited.
