Same-Day, One-Price Dry Cleaning Now in Woodbridge

ZIPS Dry Cleaning opens new location, offering $1.99 cleaning.

May 21, 2015 // Franchising.com // GREENBELT, Md. – ZIPS Dry Cleaning, a staple name in affordable and convenient dry cleaning on the Mid-Atlantic seaboard for years, has opened its newest location in Woodbridge, VA at 13584 Minnieville Rd.

Owner Krishna Gondi, a current pharmacist at CVS hopes to open additional ZIPS locations in the future near and around Richmond. An immigrant from India, Gondi was inspired by the business model of ZIPS.

“I discovered the opportunity to become an owner after a long history as a customer at ZIPS,” said Gondi. “I was always impressed by the efficient and affordable service the brand provided and thought it was the perfect avenue to explore entrepreneurship.”

“With Krishna’s years of experience in national retail, we expect him to bring a great deal of professionalism and sophistication to the brand,” said VP of Development Aaron Goldberg.

ZIPS’ success lies in its one-price model. A customer can have any item of clothing dry cleaned for $1.99. It doesn’t matter if the item is a necktie, a wedding dress or a pair of pants, the price is $1.99, three times less expensive than the industry average. Garments are cleaned on-site, allowing for same-day service.

ZIPS recently signed a 100+ store development deal that will provide new stores throughout the Mid-Atlantic. ZIPS estimates there will be 50 ZIPS Dry Cleaners open and operating by the end of 2015 and as many as 80 by 2017.
